Biography

Mattia Trabalza was born in 1996 in Foligno (PG), the city where he currently lives and works together with Rome. After the Bachelor's Degree in Multimedia and Technological Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 2018, he obtained the Master's Degree also in Multimedia Arts in Rome in 2021. He works as photographer and freelance video maker. Also he is a high school teacher.

Artist's Statement

In search of leaving a trace of this life, his works speak of connections between the self and experiences, giving meaning to that fragment of existence imprinted in the mind that will be lost over time.

As digital artists the artworks he creates alternate between video art and conceptual photography with which he creates digital manipulation. His research deals with the aspects of gravityof the time. It was born in surreal to get in touch with the archetypes of the human being. Always fascinated by the creative process and the infinite number of connections that constitute it, to which he dedicates part of his artworks.

Photography was born as a tool to document reality but today through digital manipulation it is possible to create new scenarios, even surreal ones, to express different mental landscapes belonging to the sphere of fantasy.

There are factors such as time and gravity that cannot be explained through a simple analog photography, so Mattia Trabalza goes beyond the appearance of things and searches for those symbols which become the pieces of a new and more complete vision. 

Some of the projects of Mattia Trabalza they can be considered meta-art, as it tells and offers a reflection on the same creative method used and illustrated by his digital images.

The artist narrates his experience in artistic research through dreamlike and allegorical images, illustrates the phases of an intrinsic process of infinite prisms of emotions and sensations.
